The DCP4.0MA three-electrode total chlorine sensor uses a membrane-attached method, and its detection principle is based on the selective adsorption of the membrane and the electrochemical response caused by concentration differences. The following are its main principles:

Selective film covering: The working electrode of the sensor is covered with a selective film. This membrane has high selectivity for chloride ions and is usually prepared from specific materials or compounds.

 

Chloride ion adsorption: When chloride ions in the water sample come into contact with the selective membrane, the chloride ions will be adsorbed to the membrane surface due to the characteristics of the membrane.

 

Charge change: The adsorption of chloride ions causes a charge change on the membrane surface. This change in charge can be received by the electrodes, producing a corresponding current or potential signal.

 

Electrochemical measurement: A system of electrodes in a sensor measures changes in electrical current or potential caused by changes in charge. This change is directly proportional to the concentration of chloride ions in the water sample.

 

Data processing: The sensor processes the measured current or potential signal through the internal circuit and converts it into a digital signal of total chlorine concentration or other related units.

 

The membrane-attached total chlorine electrode utilizes the adsorption characteristics of the selective membrane to chloride ions in the water sample, and indirectly measures the total chlorine content in the water sample by measuring the current or potential changes caused by the change in charge on the membrane surface. This method has fast response, high sensitivity and good selectivity, and is suitable for various application scenarios of water quality monitoring and control.
